About Us
ViewIT develops and markets design-related sales tools for the Home Products industries. Used by design professionals, vendors and retailers, these powerful and intuitive visualization tools have been extremely successful in helping interiors professionals overcome the "how will it look in my home" buying hesitation. The result is better communication, increased close-ratios and higher average ticket sale amounts.
ViewIT Technologies, (formerly Masterplan Magnetics) was co-founded in 1991 by husband and wife team of Ross and Donna Barlett. Drawing from his experience in the family office design business, Ross realized that as furniture products were getting more modular and more options being offered, a negative effect was being introduced that required the potential customer to make more decisions, thus slowing down the sale. This required more pre-sale work done by the sales professional, more repeat visits to customers, and drastically increased the length of time required to 'close the deal'.
The result was The Board - Space Planning System, a patented, simple to use portable sales tool that uses scaled magnetic symbols of furniture and related items to allow on-the-spot room planning. You simply select the desired parts, place them in position on the planning board and photo-copy the results.
Since that time ViewIT has expanded their product offering to over 30 design-related sales tools. To date we have sold over 130,000 design tools to more than 25 countries. These include home and office design, landscape planning, kitchen and bath design, and even a crime-scene re-creation system developed specifically for police forensics departments. In April of 2008 and after 4 years of development, ViewIT Technologies launched 3Dream.net - a state-of-the-art online virtual design system. Now available to-the-trade, interiors professionals can - in just a few minutes - create their client's space in a live, navigable 3-D environment, try any combination of thousands of real world products and materials, and prepare presentation reports and images that help sell the project. This cutting-edge program combines the 'Keep it simple' approach that made The Board series so popular, with stunning graphics quality, enabling the user to see it all first and make instant changes until the project space is 'perfect'.
3Dream, which stands for "Dream - Design - Deliver", has very quickly become known as the first 'video game for designers'.
